How it works

Powerball draws take place every Thursday at 21:30 AEST/AEDT. Players choose seven numbers from a pool of 1 to 35, then select one Powerball number from a separate pool of 1 to 20. Match all eight and you win Division 1.

The format means two independent selections in each entry. Your main numbers determine whether you land in the prize tiers, while the Powerball acts as a multiplier across divisions. Full game rules and entry options are published by the operator at thelott.com/powerball.

Odds and divisions

The chance of winning Division 1 is 1 in 134,490,400. To put that in perspective, you would need to flip a coin and land heads roughly 27 times in a row to match those odds. Lower divisions offer better chances but smaller prizes. The minimum advertised top prize is A$3,000,000, though jackpots often roll over when there is no Division 1 winner.

If you win

Prize claims are handled by the licensed operator that sold your ticket, not by Drawswatch. We do not process payments, hold funds or verify entries. If you think you hold a winning ticket, contact the retailer or online platform where you purchased it. Prizes above certain thresholds require identity checks and may take several days to process. Keep your ticket or confirmation email safe until the claim is settled.
